How to create a secure prefill link for Google Forms?

When you create a prefill link in Google Forms, the values are passed via url parameters to pre-populate the answers in your form. Instead of this, you can use the Formprefill addon for Google Forms to easily create secure prefill links without exposing the values on url.


Create secure prefill links using Formprefill addon

  • Open your form in Google Forms

  • Install the Formprefill addon (click here)

  • Click on the addon icon

  • Click Formprefill

  • Click Create prefill links

  • Click Proceed

  • Share page will open in a new tab

  • Click New link

  • Enter the unique name for the link

  • Click Next

  • Enter the answers for the fields to be prefilled

  • Click Create

By default, all the fields in the form are editable. You can customize the appearance of the fields to make it read only or hidden. You can also mark the fields as protected health information (PHI) to secure sensitive data and limit access to PHI when exporting the data.
